The NC budget was due June 30th. It is (as of this very moment) July 16th and still no budget in sight. In fact they just passed another continuing resolution so they can take even more time to "work on it". This is way beyond ridiculous when you consider that the process started in January. It is time for our state representatives to stop playing politics and pass a budget!
North Carolina one of only 3 States that can't pass a Budget
Just read this article that we are one of three states without a budget. It is so bad in Pennsylvania that state workers will not be getting paid at all until it passes. Is that coming here next?
I feel that the legislature
I feel that the legislature is one of the main reasons we are in this "need of money." As reported on WRAL-TV news, it costs the state $5 million each day for every day they go over the June 30th deadline. If the people would of the state of NC would get together and express the concerns to the legislature that they need to work for FREE if they don't come to an agreement by June 30th. This would save the state a lot of money. If the number WRAL-TV reported is accurate (and I have heard it several times), the state has paid out $85 million dollars. WOW!! Can you imagine what could be done to the budget with that money?
I agree with you 110%.
I agree with you 110%. Not only should we be withholding pay, no more time off (including weekends) until it's done.
August 1st is in a couple
August 1st is in a couple days.... still no budget.
